# ARMS - CAD - Name
#### **Name**
The Names tab will allow you to add or search for a person in the ARMS master name file. This will allow you to search for a name in ARMS and add it to the CAD event or if the name is not in ARMS add it as a new name. Once the name has been added to the CAD event you can view and edit the information and link any information such as vehicles or addresses.
### **Searching and Adding a Name**
When initially adding a name to an event, ARMS will check to see if the name is already in the system. Enter all known information to search for a name. You can place a \* before or after the name to perform a wildcard search. For example, you can enter WIR\* and it will search for any names that start with WIR.

| Race | Student ID – School Issued ID number | State ID – A state issued ID that is not a driver’s license |
| FBI ID – FBI reference ID number | Finger Print ID – Reference number for Finger Print Cards | Year Born |
| Age – Current age of the person | DOB (+/-15 Days) – Date of birth within 15 days of date entered | SSN – Social Security Number |
| Driver’s License Number – ID number on Driver’s License | Driver License State – State that issued the Driver’s License | Identified Group – Gang affiliation |
ARMS will display a list of the names that match your search. Select the correct name and ARMS will automatically start adding the name to the event. If you wish to select a different name, select back.
Next enter the involvement type and Name Type
| Involvement – Type of involvement with the event such as suspect or victim | Name Type – Type of name such as student, facility, or non-student. |

If you wish to add any information to link to the event, select it from the appropriate tab. Then select Save to add the name.
### **Adding a new Name**
Follow the directions for the search to start but when you pull up the name list select Add New
Enter at least the required fields and save the name.

| Mid Name | DOB – Date of Birth |
| Suffix – The honorific attached before a name such as Mr., Ms., or Dr. | Ethnicity – The Ethnic background of the subject. Specifically if the subject is Hispanic or not. |
| Email – Subject’s email address | Officer Safety – Safety warnings for officers, for instance if the subject keeps a firearm in their vehicle |
| Classification - Classification | |
| Place of Birth – The city the subject was born in | State of Birth – If the subject was born in the USA please enter the state |

| Mother’s Maiden Name – The mother’s full name prior to marriage | Father’s Name – name of the father |
| SSN – Social Security Number | Driver’s License – Driver’s License Number | Driver’s License State – Issuing state of the driver’s license |

### **Editing a Name**
Selecting the edit name button for an attached name will allow you to modify the information.
From these screens you can update any information about the subject.
Once you have finished editing the name select save to update the name.
### **Viewing linked information for a Name**
Some names will have linked information such as addresses or phone numbers. To view this information simply select the linked information button.
From this screen you can view or add any address, phones, physical descriptions, field interviews, vehicles, or complaints, as well as change the involvement and name types.
| Involvement – Type of involvement with the event such as driver, arrestee, or citation | Name Type – Type of name such as student, facility, or non-student. |

| Addresses – Any physical addresses for the subject including home or work addresses | Phones – any phone numbers that the subject can be contacted at such as home, work, or mobile |
| Descriptions – physical descriptions of the subject | Field Interviews – any field interviews for the subject can be recorded here |
| Vehicles – any vehicles that the subject drives or owns can be added here | Complaints – any criminal or citizen complaints against the subject will be recorded here. |
### **Removing a Name**
To remove a name, select the remove name button and confirm the removal.
