ARMS - Home Screen - Tow File

Tow Files are records to keep track of vehicles that have been towed, by who, where they were taken, and any other information you may need to know. These can be added in ARMS either to a vehicle in a case report in the Case Management module or to the Tow File module on the home screen. In Case Management, you'll choose or create a vehicle to link to the case report, and after saving the vehicle the tow file will appear below the vehicle information.

Additionally, you can select the Tow File module on the ARMS Mobile home screen. There you can both search the Tow Files that are currently in the system and also add a new one by selecting the Add New button. You will need to have a Case Report or CAD Event that already has a vehicle attached to it to be able to add a Tow File this way to keep track of why the vehicle was towed.

When adding the Tow File, you have the main information at the top. The Reference Number is the case or CAD event the Tow File is related to, and the Reason for Tow and Towed Status fields can both be customized through the Code List.

Below that initial information, there are 5 tabs: Towing Information, Release Information, Owner, Stolen, and Vehicle.

Towing Information allows you to add more details regarding who it was towed by and where and any contents, damage, or notes. The Towed By field can be customized in the Code List.

Release Information allows you to add who the towed vehicle was release by and to whom. The Owner tab is where you can link the owner name to the Tow File. Stolen will allow you to add information about if this vehicle was stolen and where it was recovered. Then finally the Vehicle tab where the vehicle from the case report will have already imported in.
