Getting Started
The Instant Messenger module allows users to quickly communicate and relay information amongst one another. To get started, click on the envelope icon located at the top right corner of the ARMS web page.
Users
On the left side of the webpage, the Users panel will display all ARMS users as well as their availability status. You can select which users you want to send your messages to by clicking on the checkbox next to their name. If you want to send a message to all online/offline users, or all users, simply check the respective box.
Messages
The Messages panel on the right side of the webpage will display a live feed of messages sent to you along with a date/time stamp.
To see older messages, click on the History icon at the bottom of the chat feed. You can filter this log by day, week, month, and year.
To compose your own messages, select your desired recipients from the User panel and type into the text box found at the bottom of the screen. Hit send. Your message should be sent instantaneously. For quick responses, select a pre-set phrase from the Standard Response options.
