How do I get our handhelds to sync correctly with ARMS?

First check that the ARMS server is reachable from the workstation. 

Open the command prompt and ping the server: ping <server name>. If you do not receive a response, check with your IT department and ensure that ping is turned on and have them make sure that the computer can reach the server.

 

If ping works correctly, open MCW on the handheld to the login screen and go to Settings and verify that the server IP is the same as the one from the ping.

If both of those are correct, make sure telnet is turned on in the Windows features for the workstation, try to telnet: telnet <server name> 8123. If you cannot telnet to the server you may have to restart the ARMS.Remoting service on the server.

WARNING: Restarting this service will kick everyone off of ARMS and should only be done after informing dispatch.
