How do I merge people in Master Name?

If a duplicate master name record is found, Web ARMS has the option to "Merge Duplicate Names." This option will only be visible to the Employee who has that permission.

To do so go to Name.

Click on the Merge Duplicates button located in the upper right corner of the screen.

In the fields available enter your search Criteria for the duplicate names to merge, "*" and "?" may also be used as wild cards for search. 

When the user has entered their data click Search. If your search returns results, they will be listed as shown below.

If the two records are to be merged, click on the checkboxes available in front of the name. Once selected click on the Merge selected text link as shown below.

Begin checking what data should remain in the "Primary" record and which data should be deleted. In the example the user has selected some data to remain in the Primary and some data to be transferred from the deleted record to the primary record. Once selections have been made click on Merge.

The user will receive a warning to confirm the merge. Select "Yes" if ready to merge the two records.

If the user does not have permission to merge, Admin will need to add the Merge Permission to the user.

To do so go to Additional>Setup>User Access.

Select the user from the list.
Select Master Name and select the checkbox of “Can Merge Master Name.”

Once selected, click on Save button. Now user can login again and check for the provided permissions.
