            Searching and Entering a New Address

            1. Click on the “Address” button from the main RMS toolbar to open Address Management.

            2. Enter part of the address (the house number, street name, or a combination of both) in the Address Line 1 box (A), and then click the “Search” button (B).

            *Tips:
            You may use the mouse to click the “Search” button or use the “Enter” key to perform searches.

            3. If no matches were found, follow steps 3a-3d; otherwise, follow steps 4a-4d.

            !Did You Know?
            Entering a partial address will allow more results to be found. The goal of searching is to eliminate duplicates in the database and reduce the need to enter the same data multiple times.


            3a. If no matches were found, click the “OK” button in the Information box.

            3b. Enter the rest of the Address Line 1 and Line 2 information.

            *Tips.
            To navigate between fields, you can use the mouse or the “Tab” key.

            3c. Enter the City (A), State (B), Zip ( C ), Zone (D), and Country (E), if applicable.

            !Did You Know?
            • Entering a Zip Code will auto-populate the City and State.
            • Entering a City and State will auto-populate the corresponding Zip Code.
            • The Zone field will be used if your agency breaks the jurisdiction into zones.
            • The Country field will default to United States if left blank.

            3d. Complete the address by clicking on the “Save” button at the top of the Address Management window.

            4. When results are found, follow steps 4a-4d

            4a. Addresses matching the search criteria will display in a results window.

            4b. If the address you were searching for is found, highlight the address from the results grid (A), and then click the “Choose” button (B) on the results window to select the address.

            4c. The address will then be displayed in the Address Management window.

              

            4d. If the search results do not contain the address you were looking for, click the “Add” button in the results window to create a new address record. Follow steps 3b-3d for in-depth details on creating a new address.
