### Main Case Builder window

1\. From the main Case Builder window, enter the Case Number, Crime/s, and the Dates/Times.

2\. After adding the crimes to your case, use the up and down arrows to reorder the crimes. UCR states must order the crimes in Case Builder by severity (Hierarchy Rule).

3\. Cases containing Part 1 crimes require classification information be entered. Click on the crime to highlight it (A), and then click the “Classification” button (B).

4\. Use the drop down lists to select the correct information related to the crime.

5\. Click the “Save” button to save the classification information.

- Any Part 1 crime requiring classification will be highlighted in blue and will have the classification button active when selected.
- Enter the UCR information for each Part 1 crime in your case.
- The available drop down lists will differ, depending on the crime that has been selected.
