ARMS - Case Log - UCR/Clery
In the Case Management module while filling out a Case there is a tab for UCR. This is where you will input and UCR or Clery reportable data into a Case. Be aware that you will need to have your Crime Codes set up correctly and they will need a UCR data code and a Clery Act Data code (if applicable).

After selecting the “Start UCR Review” button you will be brought to a screen with two tabs: General Info and Properties. In the General Info tab, you will see seven different sections: Crime, Clearance Status, Domestic Violence, Vehicle Recovery, Law Enforcement Officers Killed or Assaulted, Clery ACT – Title IX – SaVE ACT, and Arson.

The first section of the UCR Review is the Crime section. This section will pull from the crime that is located in the Incident tab of the Case, as long as that Crime Code has a UCR Data code associated to it. For any Clery reportable crime that is not UCR reportable we suggest giving it a UCR Data code of 99.

The second section of the UCR Review is the Clearance Status section. This section is where you can mark the date that the Case was cleared. You can then select whether it was cleared as Unfounded, Exceptional Clearance, or Cleared By Juvenile Arrest.

Be aware that if you mark the case as Unfounded, all UCR Property records will be deleted.

The third section of the UCR Review is the Domestic Violence section. This section allows you to mark whether the Case was Domestic Violence Related, if a Senior Citizen was involved, and what Weapon Type was used, or if there were none used.

The fourth section of the UCR Review is the Vehicle Recovery section. This section allows you to report whether a Vehicle was recovered during the Case by stating what type of Recovery there was and the date it was recovered.

Be aware that if a UCR Review is marked at Unfounded, you will be unable to choose a Vehicle Recovery type or insert a date.

The fifth section of the UCR Review is the Law Enforcement Officers Killed or Assaulted section, also known as LEOKA. This section allows you to report if an officer is killed or assaulted. You can choose the Type of Activity that the officer was killed or assaulted during. You can select whether there was a personal injury or not, what type of assignment was involved, whether the officer was alone or assisted, and whether the officer was killed and whether it was by felonious act or by accident or negligence.

The sixth section of the UCR Review is the Clery ACT – TITLE IX – SaVE ACT section. This section allows you to report a Clery reportable crime and whether that crime is related to Title IX, the SaVE Act, or VAWA. For a crime related to VAWA you can choose whether the crime involved Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, or Stalking. You can also mark whether the Case involved a forcible or non-forcible sex offense in addition to an already counted murder or manslaughter, and what that sex offense is. If your Crime Code is set up with the correct Clery Act Data, when you select that crime in the first UCR Review section, Crime, then it’ll automatically fill out the Clery Crime Type in this section. Then you can select the Hate Type if the Case involved a Hate Crime.

The seventh section of the UCR Review is that Arson section. This section allows you to report if there was a fire involved in a Case. You can select the Cause of the Fire, the Structure Type involved, mark whether the structure was Unoccupied, input the Number or Injuries and Number of Deaths, input the Total monetary value of Property Loss, and if a Mobile was involved in the fire.

The UCR Review also has a Properties tab. When you select that tab it will show you the Property Type, Stolen Dollar Value, Recovery Date, and Recovery Dollar Value. If there are multiple properties involved this tab will display the total of all Stolen Dollar Values and the total of all Recovery Dollar Values.

You can also choose to add a property that is involved in the UCR Review here. Just like on the display page, when adding a Property here you can add the UCR Property Type, Stolen Dollar Value, Recovery Date, and Recovery Dollar Value.
