Dispatching by Beat is a feature in ARMS that automatically assigns a unit to a CAD event based on a unit’s beat(a location the dispatch can set the officer as being in normally).
To turn off this feature you must un-check the dispatch by Beat. This option can be found under CAD Preferences.
If your department wishes to take advantage of this feature, then a beat must be assigned to each officer by going to CAD > Function > Log in/off Units > CAD Unit Maintenance
CAD Unit Maintenance contains all units and can modify any Unit that are already logged in.
