How do I utilize Domain Authentication in ARMS?

The ARMS desktop client and the ARMS Mobile web application offer the ability to authenticate users into the ARMS system using Microsoft Active Directory user credentials.

The ARMS desktop client (when launched) will look up the currently logged-on Windows user and automatically pass those credentials to log in to ARMS.

Being that the ARMS Mobile web application is commonly used from non-domain joined devices (such as tablets and smartphones), the ARMS Mobile web application allows the user to log in to the system using domain credentials. When the user reaches the ARMS Mobile login form, the user will see the domain name already appears in the domain field on the form. The user simply enters his/her domain username and password into the form and then clicks the login button.

Example:

HOW TO SETUP "OFFICER JAMES SMITH" -
Police Officer named James Smith works for Anytown Police Department. The IT staff for APD provides domain logon credentials to James Smith:

How can James Smith log in to the ARMS desktop client?

Officer James Smith seats himself at a computer.

After successfully login into the Windows operating system, he finds the ARMS client shortcut on the desktop. He clicks the shortcut to launch the ARMS desktop client application.

The ARMS client automatically performs a look-up to ensure the current Windows user has been permitted to use ARMS. Once that is confirmed, the ARMS client automatically opens for the user. If the user was not confirmed, the typical ARMS user login form would appear and expect the user to provide valid credentials to log in to ARMS.

How can James Smith log in to the ARMS mobile web application?
Officer James Smith uses Google Chrome to navigate to his department's ARMS Mobile web address.

Once he reaches the site, he will be viewing the ARMS Mobile login form.

The form displays three fields and a login button. The fields are Domain (pre-filled by the domain name "pd.anytown.com"), Username (blank textbox), and Password (blank textbox).

Officer Smith will enter "jsmith" into the Username field, enter "Jsmith#123" into the Password field, and click the Login button.

The ARMS Mobile web application validates the user credentials and then opens the web application for the user.
