My agency would like to put ARMS on a new server. What do we need to know?

When installing ARMS on a new server, we like to do it in two steps: a Test Migration and a Live Migration. After your IT department has the new server set up and configured to our specifications, we can schedule a Test Migration. On that date, we will need access to your current server and your new server. Prior to connecting with ARMS Support, pull a backup of your ARMS database and put it on the new server. We then will install the most recent release of ARMS onto the new server. Once ARMS has been successfully installed on the new server, we will walk your IT Professional through the process of installing the new ARMS Client onto a test workstation.

After the Test Migration is complete, we will schedule a Live Migration with your department. While the Test Migration involves no downtime, the Live Migration can require up to two hours of downtime. During this process, we will take down the old server and transfer the most recent copy of your ARMS Database to the new production server. We will then put the workstation installation files into the Client Share folder, for ease of access in workstation installs. All of your workstations that were previously connected the old ARMS server will need to be reinstalled to connect to the new server.
